'Skulls Snakes and the Flower of Death' is a short film, a labour of love, an exploration of art and the alchemy of death and rebirth through the process of tattooing. Although tattoos can seem simple, maybe inconsequential, they can also hide beneath layers of our own psyches. They reveal a lot about ourselves and reflect our own finite existence.
We are delighted tattoo artist João Bosco allowed us such freedom and gave himself and his art fully to the project. This was a unique opportunity for us to explore darker themes and visuals.
For us filmmaking is an opportunity to open a door into an unknown world and live it. We are fortunate enough to have had the chance to open this door. What an amazingly interesting world we inhabit.
Life is beautiful in all its imperfections.
